Minimalist studio and bathroom renovation for a 40-year-old Torquay home

At 40 years old, our task on this project was to bring the these spaces into the 21st century.

The brief for the bathroom renovation was to maximise the light from the external windows and give the illusion of space. All white fittings and a frameless shower screen add to this minimalist approach. This design has allowed for the Terrazzo tiles on the floor, artwork and greenery to create interest and personality in the space.

The next part of this project was to transform what was previously two small bedrooms. By removing the wall between and remodelling the layout we were able to create a more versatile space for our clients to use as both a studio and as a spare room when they have guests. The main bathroom was the only toilet in the house so we also we able to get a separate powder room within this space.

In order to achieve this renovation, we installed a wall bed that fits in within a large storage cabinet. There is a large sliding door that divides the space when required, doubling as the cupboard door when not in use.
