The goal was to transform the back half of a charming federation-style home into a functional, modern, and elegant space, while preserving its historic character. The kitchen was reoriented to enhance the space’s flow, with a large island bench increasing both workspace and functionality. New windows were added to draw in natural light, brightening the entire area. With sleek, integrated modern appliances, the kitchen now boasts a sophisticated yet welcoming feel, perfect for day-to-day use and special occasions alike.

A key focus of the renovation was ensuring the new design harmonised with the existing structure. The colour palette of the kitchen cabinets was inspired by hues found in the original front of the house, blending old and new effortlessly. Our clients embraced the use of bold design elements, incorporating striking floral wallpaper and a black tile combination in the powder room for a touch of modern flair.

To maximise natural light and connect the indoors to the outdoor entertaining area and pool, large bi-fold doors were installed, opening the living space to the north-facing backyard. This seamless indoor-outdoor flow ensures the home is not only functional but perfect for entertaining.
